This is the craft we had planned for the older kids back when we did our Sword of the Spirit lesson. They ran out of time and never got around to making it, so I finally did it myself. I really wanted to see how it would turn out because I thought the idea was very cool.
My husband drew the outline of a sword on foam board, working with some of the edges that were already there.
This is what it looked like once it was cut out. Sort of cartoon-ish.
The next step was to lay the sword on top of some card stock and trace around the sword edges. Then I cut out the card shapes, wrote Bible verses on them with Sharpie, and taped them to the sword with packing tape. I really like the finished product!
Here’s a list of the verses I used: Isaiah 40: 8, Isaiah 41:13, Isaiah 42:13, Isaiah 43:11, Isaiah 51:16a, Psalm 18:30, Psalm 19:7, Psalm 20:7, Psalm 91:9, Psalm 119:11, Psalm 119:89, Psalm 121:5, Psalm 121:7, Psalm 124:8, Psalm 130:5, Psalm 138:3, Psalm 138:7, Psalm 143:9, Proverbs 30:5, John 1:1a, Ephesians 6:17, Hebrews 4:12, and Revelation 19:15a.
