Here’s a fun activity that gets the kids looking up Bible verses. Ask people ahead of time for their favorite Bible verse. Then make up little slips like this, with treasure chest clip-art and the person’s name and favorite verse reference. Find a box that looks like a treasure chest, or get one at the craft store and paint it. Put your papers inside, and during class the kids can each take a slip out of the box. Depending on age, they could work together or individually to look up the verse. If the kids know the person whose verse they’re looking up, it will make it more meaningful to them. Once they find the verse, they can read it out loud to the others and tell them who said it’s their favorite verse.
