Balloons – ? Hat

Here’s another great hat from The Inflatable Crown Balloon Hat Book by Addi Somekh and Charlie Eckert.  I can’t remember the name of it, but will look it up when I get a chance. Save

Balloons – Fishing Pole & Fish

The fishing pole and fish is a fun, interactive balloon to make for kids.  Here is a Youtube video on how to make the fishing pole.  I make mine slightly different.  Instead of leaving a long tail on the balloon that is the rod, I leave a short tail and tie an extra uninflated 260 […]

Balloons – Basic Wand

This is a picture of the very early wand that I used to make.  It’s very, very simple and can be customized with any 5″ balloon you want for the top portion.  I’ve used a skull, geo blossom, heart, Disney princess, and more.  Here is a link to the Youtube instructions.  This man makes three […]

Balloons – Santa Hat & Beard

This hat looks ridiculously large on my model, but that just seems to make it that much more festive.  Here are the instructions on Youtube.  The only thing that I did differently, was that I used two 260’s spiraled together for the beard.  It just changes the look of it and makes the beard longer. […]

Balloons – Bee on Flower

I really like this design because it registers a 10 on the cuteness scale.  You can customize it also, which makes it even more fun.  Make the stem, flower, or bee’s wings different colors.  Experiment and have fun!  The video is on Youtube.  A child did this tutorial so it’s not very polished, but he […]

Balloons – Ram

Here’s a fun little one-balloon ram.  Instructions on Youtube.  The ears/horns can be a little finicky, but you’ll get the hang of it after making a couple. Save

Balloons – Bunny Rabbit

Here’s the balloon bunny, which is another variation on the dog.  It’s a little trickier to get the proportions right on this little guy.  Instructions on Youtube.

Balloons – Person on Skateboard

Today I made a figure to go with the skateboard from yesterday, from Out-of-This-World Balloon Creations.  Just to be silly, I gave it a Cinderella face.  Her proportions are a bit off though, so I call her Cinderilla — a cross between Cinderella and a gorilla.

Balloons – Skateboard

This balloon skateboard is nice and easy, except for those finicky tulip twists.  There must be a secret to them that I don’t get.  The design comes from Out-of-This-World Balloon Creations by Shar Levine & Michael Ouchi.  I’ll make a figure to go with the skateboard tomorrow.

Balloons – Snake

This is a very easy snake to make, but it looks fancy because of the spiraled body and floppy tongue.  Instructions on Youtube.  If you can’t inflate the balloon by mouth, you can wrap the balloon around a child’s fingers and blow it up that way.  There are other methods for getting a curly balloon–maybe […]

Balloons – Snail

The snail is super-easy to make, and it looks impressive because of the spiral.  Be forewarned, kids will undo the spiral and will come back repeatedly so you can fix it.  How-to video on Youtube.  He adds some eyes and antennae.  It’s not necessary, as you can see from the picture above, but a nice […]

Balloons – Flower

If you want to learn balloons, you must learn how to make a balloon flower.  Directions on Youtube.  Her version is slightly different from mine, but I like hers and will probably use her design next time.

Balloons – Mouse

I really enjoy making the balloon mouse.  He’s so tiny and cute, and his tail sort of wobbles around.  Little kids really like him.  His body is the same as the basic dog, just much smaller.  It will take some practice to work with the little bubbles, but once you have it down, it goes […]

Balloons – Jack-o’-lantern

This balloon Jack-o’-lantern is easy to make using a dipped bee body.  You can purchase pre-dipped ones so that you don’t have to make your own like the guy in this video does.  Then use a Sharpie to draw the face on.

Balloons – Crocodile

This is a simple one-balloon crocodile that you can make.  The only video I could find of this type of crocodile is in German.  If you just watch him, you should be able to do it.

Balloons – Mohawk Hat

I love how this hat looks!  Make a basic helmet and embellish it with spirals of different colors.  Fully inflate three balloons of whatever colors you choose–school colors, sports team colors, whatever.  Insert one of the fully inflated balloons through the top of the helmet and wrap around, spiraling balloon and lock twisting at the […]

Balloons – Head Hunter Hat

As you can see from the picture, this is a giant hat!  Make sure the person wearing it has plenty of clearance.  Even though it looks quite impressive, once you get the hang of it, the design is quite simple.  It’s from The Inflatable Crown Balloon Hat Book by Addi Somekh and Charlie Eckert.

Balloons – Alien Hat

The idea for this cool alien hat came from another blog.  I like how you can pose his arms, so it looks like he’s reaching out to grab someone.
